As you probably know, Ernie is throwing a party after this meeting. So…..
In keeping with the party theme today, I thought I would talk about the best party that will ever be.

If you’ve ever heard Christians talk about the future, you have probably heard that Jesus is coming back one day, possibly very soon. The cool thing about that, is that when Jesus returns, everyone will know it.

Matthew 24:27
“For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
Revelation 1:7
“Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.
And everyone will see him…”

And not only will everyone see Him, there is more in store for those that belong to Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we shall always be with the Lord.”

Not only will we be with Jesus, but we will be reunited with Christian friends and family that have gone before us. Kind of like of giant reunion. This is going to be one great party, and not only a party, but we will also become immortal.

1 Corinthians 15:52-53 says, It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies that will never die.”

There will be no more death, no more tears, no more sadness. We will be healthy, joyful and we will live forever in Heaven.

(Pause)

Ernie sent an invitation for his party. He extends it to all his friends. But you have to accept the invitation to come. Jesus extends an invitation to His party as well, and it is for His friends.

I know I’m going because I am Jesus friend, are you? If you aren’t sure and want to be, you can talk with me, one of the other Christians in our community. I would only ask one thing. If you do make this decision, tell someone.

(Moment of silence and prayer)

Now, Let’s Party!
