We all lead busy lives, lives full of activities and purpose. Filled with work, family, motorcycle clubs, friends, UCOA meetings, participating in benefits, protecting our rights through COC&I meetings and riding motorcycles… Oh, and for many of us attending church on Sunday falls in there somewhere. As I say, we lead busy lives.
So, how do you balance all this activity against your purpose. Perhaps you even think all these activities are you purpose. But, I would suggest that your purpose is much greater than these, and that your purpose is what allows you to prioritize the activities of your life into more than just bunch of stuff you do.
I think your purpose is likely to be something more like this; To be a standup man or woman that does what they say and is respected in the community. Someone who cares about people and the things in life that are important. Someone who is willing to stand and fight for what is right.
You see, we do what we do because we know where we are going. We are moving forward, pressing toward the goal of keeping our country, our state, our cities and our families strong. And, that is not an easy thing to do considering how we see our society sliding deeper and deeper into chaos, confusion and despair. Every day seems to bring another story or injustice, corruption and violence. Our freedoms are being trampled, our safety is being eroded. At every turn we have to say; “what were they thinking?”. To which the answer has to be; “they weren’t”.
Ok, so I haven’t really mentioned God yet, but fear not, here He comes!
Isaiah 14:27
For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?
Isaiah 14:24
The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,
God has a plan, and He has a purpose, and it will be accomplished because nothing and no-one can stop it or prevent it.
But what about His purpose for us? Well, here’s a familiar verse:
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
He has a purpose for us, and we just need to pay attention and listen to Him as he directs our steps.
Acts 26:16
But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness of what you have seen and will see of me,
Again, we just need to listen and follow His direction.
Truly when we are on God’s side of a conflict, we are secure and we have nothing to fear. As for me and my house, we stand with the Lord!
How about you?
