We all have an influence on this world we live in. In fact, that is one of our goals as members of UCOA and the US Defenders, to improve our image as bikers in the community. Of course we also work within the political process to protect our rights, keeping them from being eroded by unreasonable laws.
This is all made possible because we and our clubs have chosen to work together. Much can be accomplished when we work as one. Of course it helps that we are on the correct side of an issue, the side that seeks to protect individual freedom. It also helps that we can say, as Jimmy has in the past “God is on our side”. Now, God doesn’t just jump on anybody’s side, you actually have to be on His side if you expect to be blessed. So it is important that we choose wisely what we support, and what we oppose. Individually we may be republicans, democrats or independents, but collectively we are on the side of what is right and we want to have a positive impact on our world.
This past weekend, many of us were in Hondo at the COC&I State Rally. The weather man said it was supposed to rain the whole weekend, but we had good weather and moderate temperatures Friday evening and all day Saturday. I know I was praying for God to hold back the rain, and I suspect many of you were too. He did, and the whole event happened according to plan. God’s plan, and our plan.
There were a few surprises though, for example I heard that one of the police officers said we were not what they expected, they have a lot more problems when the country fair comes to town. I think we made a very good impression on Hondo.
The bible says in John 13:35 “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples”.
Now I know that not everyone here is a disciple of Jesus Christ, but within our community we have a love for one another that sets us apart, and it shows. As Jimmy says, “If you are not having fun doing what you are doing, then don’t do it”. I’m having fun and hopefully having an impact, how about you?
