I know that many of you enjoy the photos, as well as the chaplain’s moments that I post. I am amazed and I praise God that He has given me the opportunity to join together all these different things I enjoy so much (knowing God and having a personal relationship with Him, riding motorcycles, taking pictures and having great friends like all of you).

As I mentioned last night, at the end of my Moment for UCOA;

If you don’t have a personal relationship with God (and Jesus), and you would like to, you can talk to me, one of the other Christian club members, or the chaplain of your own club. But, if you would like to go directly to God, right now, you can with this simple prayer;

God, I agree with you that you are perfect, and I acknowledge that I am not. I believe that Jesus is your son, and that he gave his life to a death on a cross so that I might have this opportunity to come to You. I believe Jesus rose alive from the grave as proof that he is God and that he has power over death. I ask you now to come into my heart and I give you my life. In Jesus Name I pray. AMEN

If you prayed this prayer, just now, and you believed the words you just prayed, then you, in that moment have become a christian. Your eternity is secure and the angels are rejoicing. The Bible tells us that we should do one more thing, and that is to let someone know about our decision. I would appreciate it if you would let me know, so I can be praying for you as you begin this wonderful new adventure.

If you think about the friends you have, you will see that part of the way they became your friend, was through conversation. It might have happened around a camp fire, it may have been at the stops during a road trip, or it might have been in a bar while drinking a beer. Whatever way it happened for you, your friendship grew over time from just a nod or a grunt, into sharing major parts of you lives with each other. I think it is useful to think of God in this same way. He isn’t just some super powerful guy in the sky that flys around and saves people. He is the God that loves you, enjoys talking with you and wants to get to know you and share Himself with you every day. The best way to do that is just to talk to him. Some people call this prayer, but it is really just having a conversation with God. You can do it out loud, or silently in your mind. However you do it, God loves to hear from you, and He always has time for you.

One last thing before I go. Once you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, as you have today, there is nothing you can do or say that will make God upset, or angry with you. Jesus died for all of your sins, not just the ones in the past, but the ones in the future as well. So, you aren’t going to surprise God with a sin that He forgot to forgive you for. When you accepted Jesus, he gave you a new heart, and like the heart in a new born baby, your new heard needs to grow and develop, and that takes time.

Talk to God, and listen for his whispers in your ear, and enjoy the trip, it’s going to be a great adventure.
