I don’t like playing games. I am competitive though, and I do like to win, but I don’t enjoy conflict, so I usually avoid games because the competition causes me too much stress, and of course I might lose. I know, what a mess.

Jesus tells us that we are to be His witnesses to the world, though He doesn’t say it will necessarily be without conflict.

Luke 21:13-17, 19

“This will be a time for you to serve as witnesses. Therefore be resolved not to rehearse ahead of time how to make your defense. For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will have some of you put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of my name. By your endurance you will gain your lives.”

He says we are to be His witnesses, and He will tell us what to say at the very moment we need to speak. He also says we must preserver in the face of opposition, and to do that He promises us that He will provide what we need.

Isaiah 41:9-13

“..I told you, “You are my servant.” I have chosen you and not rejected you. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you – yes, I help you – yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand! Look, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and humiliated; your adversaries will be reduced to nothing and perish. When you will look for your opponents, you will not find them; your enemies will be reduced to absolutely nothing. For I am the Lord your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’”

Isaiah 40:28-31

“…He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

We are more than witnesses, we are also warriors, empowered by the One True God, and we are sustained moment by moment by His mighty right hand. We don’t need to be afraid, we only need to trust the One who is Worthy of our trust, and His name is Jesus, the Christ, the One and Only Son of God!
