Debbie and I decided to head up to Blanco, to Yett Park for their Easter Sunrise Service. Here is the writeup from the Hill Country Currents Event Calendar;
Easter Sunrise Service
7am. Yett Park, south of Blanco’s city limits. Praise & worship lead by John Lightfoot. Message by Stephen Mackey, the Greater Hill Country Area Director of Young Life. Hill country breakfast prepared by Chef Steve Becker of the Chess Club. Experience the Cowboy life with Christian Cowboy Mike Schnabel presenting lessons on roping from the arena. |
Being early risers (NOT), we set our alarm for 4:15 AM, and headed out around 5:15. Well, there certainly wasn’t any traffic on the road at that time of day. We arrived uneventfully, still in pitch dark, but fortunately Google Maps helped us find it. We only had to turn around once. We were welcomed by several nice folk, and we did have a very nice service with good music, and a great sermon. After that we enjoyed the free breakfast, which was very good if you like eggs, sausage, tators, biscuits and gravy and coffee, which we do. Then we headed over to the arena for the calf roping demonstration, including some wonderful life lessons illustrated around how the end of a rope is tied. hard to explain, but well done none the less. Ok, on with the pictures;
