We had out new Life Riders chapter meeting tonight at IHOP. We had a new waiter, and he did very well, though we kept him running. He didn’t seem to mind. We had a good but short meeting, talked about the toy runs coming up, and the JW Rock gift and food delivery, and then had time for a special time at the end of the meeting for everyone to express their thanks for things they appreciated this past year. Thank you to Max for having the idea!
Our plan was to follow along behind the chapter on the ride out to Rockdale this morning on the way to lunch at Lee’s Landing. Before heading over to see the chapter at HEB, we stopped at McDonalds and encounters a group bikers from Fallen Saints MC, headed down to a COC&I meeting in San Antonio. We had a nice talk for a few minutes, and then Debbie prayed over them for safety on their ride. We headed over to get breakfast and drove out to HEB to meet the rest of our group. Several members of the Georgetown CMA chapter (Holy Ghost Riders) met us as well, and after putting some air in one members tires, we prayed and headed out the back way to Rockdale. We stopped somewhere about half way for a “break”, and Louis got to minister to a Quick Stop employee by performing some much needed plumbing. Thank you Louis! After getting back on the road, we managed to catch a train at just the right time for another pause, then it was on to Rockdale and Lee’s Landing for some much needed lunch. After lunch, everyone headed back, but Debbie and I stopped at the local antique mall for some browsing and a few artsy photos.
Saturday evening we had the New Life Riders Christmas Party at the neighborhood community center near Robin’s house in Pflugerville. They have a very nice meeting area that works well for us, so we had our feast and gift exchange. We presented Don and Susan Potter with a nice photo plaque for their many years of service to the chapter. Lots of fun.
After putting up the lights, we headed over to CycleGear on Burnet road to help with present wrapping with other New Life Riders members. The deal was we would wrap any customer purchased item for a voluntary donation to our yearly fund raiser Run For The Son. Oh, and CycleGear gaciously provided hot dogs, chips, soda, water and cookies for lunch. Great time.
Two activities this evening, first our New Life Riders chapter meeting at IHOP, and then later, right next door, the Bike Night at the Brick House.
The meeting went very well, and we had lots of people. As usual the food was good, and the service was excellent.
Later, at the Brick House, we got to say helot some friends and pick up a sampler of super hot peppers from Clem. I’m sure Louis will thank you, but I’m not touching them. Enjoy the photos;
