We went to the annual May Day Bash out in Lakeway at The Grumpy Saloon. They had great music, free food (BBQ chicken and sausage plates) and a silent auction for some very nice custom made Texas themed wood art. Lots of socializing, and as the weather heated up the bar provide excellent Air Conditioning so I could cool down occasionally. All in all, a great event.
Post two of the May Day Bash is the party at the Midway Field House in Austin. Before and after the candle lighting for Devin, the party was underway being put on by Rollin Jax MC, Victory or Death MC and Cap City Ikonz MC. It was indeed quite a party, free chicken plates with the fixin’s and drinks (donations were accepted to help cover the cost). I certainly didn’t hear any complaints. They also had a raffle for a free vacation to Puerto Rico, which I had hoped to win, but at least they let Debbie and I draw the winning tickets for the prizes. As you can see from the photos, it was very well attended, and I think everyone had a great time.
I am posting the May Day Bash in two parts. This first part is focused on Devin, the Escondido MC member that was killed last week just a block from where the May Day Bash is being held. I was told that there was going to be a candle lighting in remembrance of Devin, and was asked to speak a few words, which I was happy to do. Of course I had to pray on the way as we walked up to the crash site to see what God wanted me to say, but I think it went well. Devin will be greatly missed by his brothers, friends and relatives. I had Debbie take a few photos to document the lighting.
