Today we are working the Hospitality tent, which I will say, isn’t exactly hard. But, it does get kind of hot being out in the weather all day. Fortunately it was only in the low 90’s today, but I got pretty exhausted by mid-afternoon, so I went to the Thunder Dome for a little nap. Falling asleep isn’t easy in all that light, and with continuous music playing, on those hard aluminum benches, but I managed to do it for about 20 minutes. As Debbie says, I can fall asleep anywhere. Not quite true of course, but I do like my naps. As far as activities today, we did have a fair number of visitors to the Hospitality tent, and so we provided cold water to all that were willing to come under the tent. I even promised some people I wouldn’t hit them with the Bible. They thanked me. Oh, one oddity was that when we were leaving the rally for the evening, I saw a very nice wheel and tire leaning against a tree in the parking are. It looked pretty valuable, but I left it where it was. There is one of my enhanced photos of it at the end of the collection.
Debbie and I went out to the fairgrounds this morning to register for the ROT Rally and to work our two shift in registration afternoon and evening. We are planning to focus on the Hospitality tent, so rethought we would just do registration on Wednesday. As it turns out Wednesday is a pretty light day,so we never really had much of a backup of people waiting to register, at least in the cash line where we were working. Just a few pics this evening;
Well, here we are on the last day of the ROT Rally. The Sunday service was great, the bike blessings were done, the Hospitality tent is torn down, the tent tarp is discarded and will be replace by a new one, everything is loaded up, and we are off to lunch. I hope y’all enjoyed this pictures and the video, see yah at the next event 🙂
Well, this was the big day for the ROT Rally. The main concerts are this evening, and Doug Danger is doing his jump on Evel Knievel’s 750 Harley Davidson over 15 cars. Of course we had lots of people come into the Hospitality tent to cool down with ice water and shade. We had a great time talking to everyone. In the evening we visited C-LOS and his beautiful bride on at their on year anniversary party. Then it was time for us to head home for some much needed rest 🙂
First day of the ROT Rally. Worked registration, and helped put up the hospitality tent. The registration process worked pretty well, with only a minor hardware difficulty that got fixed. Got to see a bunch of my friends, either working the rally, or coming into registration. The temperatures started out real nice, but things warmed up quickly, so my regiment became; walk around, rest a while, walk around, rest a while. Insert nap if possible 🙂 Enjoy the photos;
