Dead Fish Grill, Debbie, TMRA General Membership Meeting

Debbie and I went up to Belton this morning for the Sunday service and TMRA General Membership Meeting at Dead Fish Grill on the lake. As usual, Don gave a great service. Then we had the meeting, and after the meeting we had lunch there at the Dead Fish Grill. I had the BBQ Burger, which was pretty good. Before the Sunday service started, we got a chance to play on the kiddy spin around thing, and I got some good shots of Debbie playing. I’ll just include one to give you a sense of  what Debbie play is like 🙂

Debbie, hardtails, Renatus Sweat Hog Rally, Smoked Chicken

Today’s event was up at Hardtails for the Renatus Sweat Hog Rally. Debbie’s back from her trip to California, so we got to go together to this lunch/party. The weather was mild for a change, so we dragged the bikes out of the garage for the short ride up. Debbie found a Praying Mantis as soon as we arrived at the Alley, so naturally I had to take a picture of it before going next door. Hardtails was providing the lunch, and they were serving Smoked Chicken with beans and potato salad. Everything was very good. They served the Chicken with BBQ sauce on the side, but it really didn’t need anything, it had great flavor right out of the smoker. There was lots of socializing going on, and quite a few clubs in attendance. The music was handled by four casual dudes playing guitar and singing, plus the drummer of course, and they did a great job. Very pleasant to listen to. We headed out just as it started to sprinkle, and hit just a little moisture on the way home.

Debbie, photo processing

It was too late last night to finish up with all the photo processing, so here are the best shots from Debbie’s photography 🙂 Note: I messed up, and some of these may be out of order. Sorry :\

Here is a link to the video of Doug Danger’s jump that Debbie took.

Debbie, Mustang

Debbie’s FXR nees a new air filter, seems the one she has managed to get the center screw hole stripped, so we headed up to Hog Alley on the bikes. Of course the only reasonable way to get there was up IH35. The trip was relatively uneventful if you don’t count the moment where a car tried to change lanes into Debbie as she was passing them. Fortunately they saw here, if a bit late, and swerved back in their own lane. I’m sure Debbie mades some unpleasant noises inside her helmet, but we went on, arriving with no further heart attacks. Our friend Lisa was working today, so we talked to her for a bit, ordered he part we needed, and headed over to Hardtails for some lunch. On the way in, we saw this older gentleman drive in on a Mustang. No not the car, the Mustang motorcycle circa 1961. It was really in nice condition, and given that my bike seems to be getting too heavy lately, the small size of the Mustang looked pretty attractive. We talked to the owner for a minute and then headed in for a burger. Debbie decided to have breakfast, but I went for the Chili Burger. Wow that was good.

Bike Night at Roadhouse Plus a Train

cancer treatment centers, Debbie, roadhouse

Tonight was bike night at the Roadhouse in Round Rock, and in addition, Mini-me was collecting good used books for the cancer treatment centers in the Austin area. We had pretty good attendance this evening, either because everyone just wanted to get out of the house and enjoy the great weather we are having, or more likely it was to bring books for the benefit. Either way the Roadhouse was full up. While we were there, Debbie thought to check with the management to see if it would be all right to put up a Share the Road sign. They were good with it, so we walked up and put one by the street near their main sign. Another exciting thing that happened was that there was a train parked outside the Roadhouse, waiting for the signal to proceed, and when we started taking pictures of the engine, one of the engineers came out to talk. After a bit, Debbie asked if it might be possible to see inside the control cabin, and to our surprise he allowed it for a couple of minutes. Debbie was ecstatic as you might imagine. All in all a great evening.
