We had our Christian Unity meeting this evening. Since Frank was “out of country”, Dwaine led the meeting, and did a good job. Of course we still missed seeing Frank. We talked about some of the up-coming benefits and the devotional was on not being afraid or inadequate, because Jesus said He would always be with us.
Matthew 28:16-20 “16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We had the Christian Unity meeting this evening at Bill Miller’s BBQ. The food was good as usual, and we had quite a large group. I counted 25 people. I think we consumed almost half the restaurant. Mostly we talked about legislative day coming up. The COC&I meeting is on Sunday the 22nd at 1pm at Bomb Shell’s in Pflugerville. The ride to the Capital is on Monday the 23rd, meeting at Glad Tidings Church between 8am and 10am for donuts and coffee and then ride to the Capital KSU at 11am. Debbie and I are planning to be there around 9am (in the car), and then we will head to the Capital early so we can take pictures of everyone arriving.
We also talked about the HOBO (Help Our Brothers Out) swap meet on February 4th from 10am to 4pm at the Pit Stop in Nolanville, 14595 FM 439, Belton, TX (map)
KSU = Kick Stands Up ready to go!
We had our Christian Unity meeting tonight at Bill Miller’s BBQ. The good was good as usual, in this case we had the fried chicken sandwich, which were on sale. Most of the discussion this evening was about the HOBO Swap and Benefit in February. Y’all can start looking forward to that now if you want. The HOBO stands for Help Our Brother Out, and the main purpose is to raise funds to help our brothers and sisters in COC Region 1, our local region. A flyer should be available shortly, but I can tell you that the this event will be all about bike parts. If you want to donate some of your “pull offs”, we would greatly appreciate it. All donations will be tax deductible. More details at UCOA and as we get closer to the event.
We had a good group this evening, and I had a BM (Bill Miller) Chicken Sandwich special. Good food, good company and a devotional to boot. The subject of the devotional was Galatians 4:9-20 which talks about how there is always lots of new ideas being thrown at us all the time, some people follow those ideas, but we should just remember that God’s word hasn’t changed, and we just need to follow Christ and not get bogged down in all the new ideas. Seem like very wise council to me.
