Well, it was time for the December Christian Unity meeting, which was held at Bill Miller BBQ. Attendance was a little lighter than usual, being close to the holidays and all, but we had a good group and did some planning for the Benefit Rally that we will host in March next year in the continuing effort to raise funds for the families hurt by the Waco disaster on May 17th of this year. More details to come as we get closer to the event. We discussed the Luke2:8-20, where the birth of Jesus was first announced to the shepherds in the middle of the night. Frank commented on how amazing that was, that God would announce the greatest event in the history of the world to a few shepherds in the middle of the night, and punctuate the event with the singing of hosts of angels. If I had been there, I think I would have been blown flat on my back and just stayed there for a while, wondering if it was over yet. Amazing indeed!
We had the Christian Unity meeting at Bill Miller BBQ this evening. Most everyone gets there early so they can get some grub. I went light on the dinner (Brisket taco), and heavy on the desert (peach cobbler), and no Debbie I did’t eat the whole thing 🙂
It was a good meeting, we talked about how well Legislative Day went, and about the other events coming up, including the State COC&I Rally in San Antonio, and the Christian Unity Conference next month in Round Rock. It looks like the season is getting going.
Oh, one more surprise, I rode the bike this evening. The weather was so amazing, I couldn’t help myself. Of course it was especially nice that the bike actually started, but since I keep it on a float charger, that isn’t normally a problem.
We had our Christian Unity meeting for January this evening, at our usual location Bill Miller’s B-B-Q. Attendance was very good, we pretty much filled our area of the restaurant. The discussion mostly revolved around Legislative Day, January 26th, and the pre-meeting at Bikini’s on the 25th. We will be serving coffee and donuts at the starting point which is the Statesman parking lot on congress at first street. We will be starting a little later this year, heading out at about 10:45am up Congress to the Capital. Should be an exciting day!
We had a good group at the Christian Unity meting this month. Our main topic was the review of how the NCOM Region 2 meting went, and it went well indeed. We received good donations from around the state, so all the expenses were covered, and there is even some left over to help provide hospitality at the starting point of Legislative day on January 26th 2015. I hope you are planning to be there, I know I am. Watch for details early in January. As usual, Frank started a discussion about verses in the Bible, this month it was on Hebrews 13:12-18, which encourages us to be good servants in the face of opposition.
