Being on the board of UCOA has it’s advantage, for instance, it gets me out of the house occasionally. This evening we had the UCAO Board meeting, at the Roadhouse, which coincidently was also Bike Night. I wondered if out spotty weather would interfere with bike night, but fortunately our allay drizzle seemed to have tapered off to nothing by evening, so there were lots of people there. I made my pass through, doing a little visiting before the meeting, and then headed out back around 7:30. The meeting itself was pretty uneventful, possibly because this is August, and there are few things going on besides bike nights. Anyway, we had a good time socializing. Just two photos this evening, the beginning and the end as it were; Oh, and don’t forget the Back to School benefits this weekend!!
We had the UCOA Officers meeting this evening at the Roadhouse in Round Rock, which coincidently happened to also be the night of Bike Night. It felt a little strange, because Debbie and I haven’t been to an event for several weeks because there just weren’t any weekend events on the calendar. But, as soon as I arrived, and started visiting with everyone there, it all came back to me how great it is to be part of this community. It was nice to “have some time off”, but as Joe pointed out being away for a while just make you realize how much you miss getting together. Anyway, we had a good meeting, and we can look forward to the UCOA meeting coming up this next Sunday out at Bentwood. Now if the weather will cooperate Sunday and not be too stinkin’ hot, we will all have a great time. See you then!
Several people from our chapter have been supporting the bike night at Cycle Gear in Austin, so I thought I would drop in to see what was going on. Of course Cycle Gear was giving away hotdog and chips dinner, so at least my meal was then care of. As you can see from the photos, there were lots of people there, I would guess almost 100 sport bikes. Of course the weather was certainly toasty, but I managed to stay relatively cool by drinking lots of water. I saw Team Kaotic there, and lots of non-patch riders. Definitely a good group.
