Well, our egg hunt was delayed because of weather, and it looked like it might happen again, but fortunately the temperatures came up enough so that we could all have a really good time with the kids and family out at Bentwood Texas. So, without further delay, here are my photos of the extravaganza. Sooo Many Eggs!!
We had the February UCOA meeting today out at Bentwood Texas in Georgetown. The weather was definitely better than last week when we canceled the meeting because of weather. There were quite a few event announcements, so be sure to check the UCOA calendar at http://ucotexas.org for all the details. After the meeting, I saw Rob with his FXR in the parking area, so I had to take his picture. You will find three renditions of that shot, sort of titled Normal, Vivid, and Oh My Gosh. Be sure to take a look at the end of the photos.
Today was day two of this weeks event at Bentwood Texas in Georgetown. Today we had the BBQ judging and various live auctions. Plus the drawing for the Veterans Collective bike giveaway. As you will see from the photos, the winner was very happy to receive the bike. There was extra BBQ left over from the judging, so most everyone got to try some. Debbie was invited to be a judge, so that was a good experience for her. The gave her a little training so that she didn’t write a book on each contestants BBQ she tested. Overall, this was a very fun day. A bit hot, but somehow not as hot as yesterday. I managed to make it though without falling asleep in a chair. The final event of the day was the weeny bite, but since we only had one contestant, somehow they managed to win. It was all in good fun. Enjoy the photos;
Today was the first day of the Sweat Hog rally, and while it wasn’t absolutely toasty like it was last month, it was still in the 90s. Saturday is usually a little light early on, but we still had great pulled pork plates for lunch, and some excellent music from a couple of live bands, and a great DJ playing some of my favorite rock tunes from the 60s. The kids that came got to enjoy a huge blow-up slide. I think I got a little overheated, cause Debbie tells me I fell asleep in a chair. Fortunately she didn’t think to take my picture, so there is no actual evidence. Later in the afternoon, it started to cool down, so it was a lot more comfortable. Tomorrow will be the BBQ cook-off, with the cooking being done on-site and starting at midnight tonight. It should be pretty exciting! Oh, and finally, on the way home for the evening, we had to stop and take a picture of some local gentlemen out for a horseback ride. Who would have thought it, horses in Texas?
