Well, my bike is out of the shop, and today is Thursday, and there is a chapter ride tonight, so Debbie and I went on the ride. We started at Rudy’s on 183 at Duval, and Don led us out a series of winding back roads up to 1431. Then 1431 East, to the 1431 Cafe, for some good eats. Food was great, and the service was great too.
Debbie and I didin’t go on the Austin Toy Run today, but several of our chapter members did, and they took pictures, so here are the ones from Don and Susan. Looks like a great event, with lots of participation and for a very good cause. Oh, yes, and mexican food afterword.. What could be better than that?
What do you consider encouragement? When you are down, or feeling overwhelmed, what would encourage you? Well, I think encouragement comes in many forms, like helping out a brother or sister, or attending the benefits we are all so familiar with. That is real encouragement, the really simple things, like being there to listen when a friend is down and maybe out. Sometimes you don’t even need to say anything, just being willing to be there is all that is required. We all get down or depressed from time to time, and when we are like that, we need someone to give us a nudge or a hand to help us start climbing back up. Matthew 11:28-30 says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”. Jesus is saying, that we don’t have to do it all on our own, He is always available to help. In fact, one of the definition of the word “christian” is “little Christ”, so let us share our burdens, and encourage each other, whenever the opportunity arises.
