Debbie and I took my son and grandsons up to inner Space Caverns in Georgetown yesterday. After a brief but filling stop at Whataburger, Chip drove us up to the caves. We arrived just in time for a tour, and headed down, down, down the long ramp into Inner Space Caverns. We had a pretty good tour guide, he shared lots of details about the things we were seeing, and or course we got the total darkness experience as well. Overall, it was pretty fun, and the boys certainly enjoyed it.
Our second stop today was up at The Post in Cedar Pork for the Chupacabra Anniversary Party. We called out friends the Potters, but since Don was already out at a “dirt bike” event, Susan met us at The Post. As one of the club members put it this was just a relaxing time to hang out and have a free beer. Well, we had a free soda, but you get the idea. The other good news was that they didn’t serve food, which was good since we just ate at the Fish Fry. Anyway we had a pleasant time, and as we were about to head out they asked for a “photo shoot”, so you will see those at the end of the post.
First stop Saturday was the Roadhouse for the Shayla Dame Fish Fry benefit. There were several activities Saturday, but attendance was good and the fried fish was excellent as usual. WE hung round a while, and Debbie played Bingo, then it was time to head out to our next stop the Chupacabra Anniversary Party at The Post.
We had the March Christian Unity meeting this evening at our usual hangout, Bill Miller’s BBQ in North Austin. We had good attendance, and great fellowship this evening. The Scripture verses were John 15:5, and fit right in with the Abiding life. Jesus does the work (spiritual) and we get to go along for one heck of a ride.
We had out monthly meeting for United Clubs Of Austin today out at Bentwood as has been out custom lately. We had a good crowd, but a fairly light agenda. We did announce that Grim Guardian Shooter will be out Second Vice Chair, as Lobo move to Chair and Sintax moves to First Vice Chair. We look forward to the contributions that Shooter will make to our board, and the community. As always, check the UCOA calendar at UCOTEXAS.ORG for all the details of upcoming events.
