As Paul says in Philippians 4:12 “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want”. What I think he meant by that, is simply that he understood how to experience true freedom from worry in all circumstances.

I can’t say I am completely there with him yet, but I am at least beginning to see that i don’t need to fret, or worry about a lot of things, because God will take care of many of the details if I let Him.

If you were at the ROT Rally this past Wednesday night, you know that a pretty serious storm came through and wrecked havoc on many of the tents, including our Hospitality tent. After the storm, the tent ended up in a kind of bent pile of steel and tarp. When Don our chapter president got up early to make coffee so it would be ready in the morning, he discovered the destruction but there wasn’t much he could do about it by himself, so he just set up the coffee pots, plugged them in and went back to bed.

Several hours later when he went back to the remains of the Hospitality tent, he was surprised to see that the tent poles had been straightened and the tarp was back on as good as new. Well, maybe not quite as good as new, but plenty good enough to get us through the rest of the rally.

It turns out that a certain Bandido had seen the damage and rounded up some fellow bikers and proceeded to put it back together. Oh, and then they went around and helped several other venders repair their tents as well.

Now, I’m not sure that this particular Bandido would say that God told him to do that, but he might say; that was just how he was brought up, to help when help is needed. So, whatever you want to believe, it is clear that somebody had it all in hand and we didn’t need to worry about how we were going to fix the mess, it just got taken care of.

No worries, I call that true freedom. Thank you God, and thank you Bandido Shadow and friends.
