First up, is a bit of video taken by Jack of some of the bikes heading for the capital. I posted it on YouTube, so here is a link; (Sorry the video was private, it is now public so try again)

Next is a sampling of the almost 300 shots Debbie, Jack, Don and I took today. Don shot the first group at VFW 8787, and Debbie, Jack and I shot the remainder at the Capital, so enjoy.

We attended the preparation training for tomorrows Legislative Day. Arrived early to help with the setup of the TMRA II tent. We were serving Freedom Dogs again, so we had to get stuff cooking for lunch.  That all went pretty smooth, and Debbie helped serve while I took pictures of all the goings on. There were lots of different clubs in attendance, including many I had not seen before.  ABATE started things out with a refresher course on letter writing techniques and the some social techniques to help us make a good impression as we walk around the capital.  It was all a good reminder to be friendly and respectful, which is of course what we want to do. Next we broke for lunch (love those Freedom Dogs), and when we returned, Terri and another lady gave us an update on the bills we are working to get passed. After that, we got an update from Paul, and the COC&I, then Casey had a presentation of a very nice canvas print of a photo from the 2009 legislative Day of Bandido Gimmi Jimmi leading the Color Guard up to the Capital. It is a very nice print, and of course several people had to have their picture taken with Jimmy. All in all a great day.  So, tomorrow is the big day, and I hope all of you will be heading down to the Capital with me to talk to our legislators. I will be at the Capital by 10AM, how about you?

Debbie and I along with the rest of our newly (and oldly)  elected officers went to officers training at the Church of the Open Door up in Waco today. Praying, singing and learning, and.. oh yes eating, we all had a good time. Enjoy the pics.

Robin our newly elected chapter secretary and I rode our bikes out to Sam’s Town Point this evening to the annual event planning meeting for UCOA. Robin got our second annual Bug Run on the calendar for May 11th. It should be a pretty good run this year,, with lots of bugs to drive our bikes through. Gotta win that trophy!

Afterwards, we stopped at the Taco Bell (my favorite restaurant) for a soda and to talk for a while about the coming year. Specifically, this coming Monday is Legislative Day at the Capital, and we are planning to have thousands of motorcycle riders there to encourage out legislators to vote right.

After Robin headed home, i stopped in at one of my favorite places to try “again” to get a good photo of this very difficult scene. As you can see, I still have a way to go. At least I got my bike in the picture.

Believing the Lie

21 Monday Jan 2013

We have all heard the verse that says I am “saved by grace, through faith, not by works” Eph 2:8 so that I cannot boast about my great works and prove to God that He must let me into Heaven because I am so worthy. No, it is my Faith alone in Christ and His Grace alone, extended to me, that allows me entrance into heaven. So it is clear that my works don’t get me into heaven, and my anti-works (sin) doesn’t keep me out of heaven. Yet, as the verse says, “I am called to good works” Eph 2:10, so clearly works do play a part in this process, lets call that Sanctification. Christ declares me Justified, and then He sanctifies me through His power, to accomplish the good works he has prepared for me in advance to do. Interesting, He has already prepared “in advance” Eph 2:10 all the things he wants me to do, He just hasn’t told me about all of them yet. He is funny that way, it is kind of like a need to know thing. He knows, but he doesn’t tell me until I need to know. It is probably ok though, as I would most likely get overwhelmed if I knew too much about His entire plan for my life. Ok, so back to the anti-works thing. Since “we have been justified by faith” Rom 5:1, I am going to Heaven, but I still make some really bad decisions (sin) that I regret afterwords, and yet somehow I keep making those same decisions over and over again. Why in the heck do I do that? Why would I say or do something that even as I am saying or doing it, I know is wrong? Well, as is often the case, the answer is pretty simple. When I say or do something that I know is wrong, I am believing the lie. So what lie am I believing? Well, it could be the lie that nobody loves me, or the lie that what I am about to do will make me feel good, or perhaps it is the lie that if I don’t protect myself, then nobody else will. Of course these are only examples of the lies we tell ourselves to justify our words or actions. Hmm.. Maybe that could be a clue to helping me realize I am about to turn away from God, when I start trying to justify myself. You see, I am already justified in Christ, so there is no need for me to justify my thoughts, words or actions, that is unless I already know that this particular work isn’t one that God pre-planned for me to do. Lord, help me to stop believing the lies I hear in my head, and to believe only You.
